The days are long and the nights are short in Iceland in the "warmer" months:). Since we were sort of still on British time, we managed to get going at a very early time on Monday morning, around 8 am. We were trying to avoid traffic.
Seriously, it was surreal to be on the road and not see any cars. There weren't very many big roads and it was pretty easy to navigate, thankfully, as we discovered that our GPS didn't work in Iceland;)
We had a few major stops planned for the day! The first one is Seljalandsfoss--the waterfall you can see from the road as you are passing by.
It is 60 meters high and you can go behind it.
All ready to go! Robert's face says it all.
At first, I stayed behind to take a few pictures with the nice camera.
But then I figured I didn't care and joined the rest of the family behind the waterfall.
It was pretty incredible and surprisingly wet!
This is the view of the surrounding area near the waterfall.
It was nice and cozy in our small economy car, but we kept going to our next stop--the Black Sand Beach near Vic.
Lyana.
