Every year we have a very festive period of time from the last week of August till the middle of September as we celebrate Robert’s birthday, my birthday and our wedding anniversary.
This year AGAIN we went to Bad Daddy’s Burger place in Morrisville to get Robert’s free burger (or salad). If tennis is showing on TV, we end up watching it while we eat.
Here is where the party was smashing this year--our whole family together!
I made an amazingly tasty chocolate cake as requested by Robert. My decorating skills are out of this world though and not in a good way....therefore...we just focus on the taste.
Happy 41st birthday, my love!!!
And then we kind of celebrated things out of order because of timing. Robert and I left the kids at home and spent a couple of days at Southport, NC. I think it’s a very romantic spot (one of Nicolas Sparks novels are set in this area) and we loved long walks along the ocean as well as visiting Caswell Beach to relax. We had a fabulous seafood lunch at Provision Company in the middle of a torrential downpour (delicious shrimp as you may expect) and then checked into our hotel. For dinner we celebrated at Mr. P’s Bistro, a delicious unique place which was the perfect place to celebrate our 19th year anniversary!
We came back home on Saturday, my actual birthday, so we could celebrate with the kids. We went to the Irish Place in Town called Doherty’s. It was fun to be together and although the menu was limited, I still enjoyed my food.
We came home to open gifts and I am proud to admit that I am a much better silly gift receiver than I have been in the past-hahaha. The most notable funny gifts by Robert this year were a dash cam for my car and a humming bird feeder. Yes, yes, we can all laugh at this together.😂😂😂
And of course, I love my angel food cake dessert with macadamia nuts frosting. I am grateful Robert takes the time each year to make it for me. Happy 38th birthday to me!
And that is how we celebrated our three big occasions this year.
