After a very long wait of over a year, we finally got an email inviting Katya to her movie's premier for cast and crew. We were in Wales, as I remember, at the beginning of April of 2016, in a pub, waiting for our food. We were so excited that finally, on May 15th, we would see the final product of "Genius" film.
The most anticipated day finally came! We left our boys at home and took Katya to London. We had to be there on time and just to make things extra special, we took a cab! I know! A taxi in London!
This was Katya's first ride in a London taxi cab.
We got to the theater in Southbank area well before the start of the showing. It was exciting to see all the other girls there! Only Angela wasn't there as she was already studying in the states, so she was able to go to the actual premier of the film in the US!
This was our first cast and crew screening, so we didn't quite know what to expect. It was great to see Michael Grandage come up on stage and give a little speech about the project and appreciation to all who worked on the movie.
After the movie we went out for lunch and enjoyed some time together.
Robert and I were so proud of Katya and a great job she did in the movie:) It was indeed surreal to watch your own kid on the big screen! And it's crazy how movie editing, and the color scheme and just the whole movie making process makes the movie flow and creates a real thing we see in theaters. Fascinating!

We still don't know if there will ever be more projects like this for Katya (we hope there will be) but for now we'll just enjoy this moment:)
