Ever since my trip to Holland when I was fifteen years old I had a dream of going to one of those Madame Tussaud's wax museums. And somehow whenever we'd go visit London, we always skipped this place either because we didn't have enough time, or the line was huge (like with Mika last summer) or we simply didn't want to pay the money. And I have to be honest, it is expensive to take a family of five to this wax museum. The only reason why we finally managed to pull it off is because we had our Tesco vouchers (rewards points)! So we basically were given 100 GBP worth of vouchers to go to the museum, which ended up being free. Score!
We had to go to Baker Street tube station to get to the Madame Tussaud's museum, and we all know who lives on Baker street, right?
Next stop--the museum. Amazingly, if you order your tickets through Tesco vouchers, you get the amazing fast pass that saves you hours of standing in line with the "commoners". It was amazing!
We had a blast taking pictures with almost everyone we knew:)
First up--good old Oscar!
We were feeling like celebrities in no time.
And who do you think was the first person we met at the museum?
Of course, of course! Our handsome friend Colin. And yes, we are on first name basis with him.
Oh, lookie-lookie here! Nicole has stopped by as well. She didn't look much like herself, Katya explained, but we snapped a picture with her anyway. Katya thinks she is much prettier in real life (but that's a story for another time-wink-wink).
We sort of recognized this chap, but he really did not look like himself either.
Beautiful couple as usual--David Beckam and Victoria.
He is one of our favorites so we had to get a selfie!
Timeless Audrey...
He is one of my favorite James Bonds actually:)
This picture made a splash of comments on Facebook. Robert hanging out with his buddy Bruce.
Well, who knows? Maybe in the future she'll actually get to meet this guy.
Alfred Hitchcock being a little bit crazy.
It's almost Olympics time! And Mark is very excited.
Our young football fans with Pele.
And with Muhammad Ali.
I waited for a while to get a picture with Princess Di.
And these guys were there too!
One of our family pictures of 2016.
Katya couldn't pass up an opportunity to "participate in the exhibit":))
"All You Need Is Love".
Alex has been learning "Queen's" songs like "Don't stop me now".
And, of course, Adele was there! Katya wanted to get a few tips from her as well.
Robert was ecstatic when he saw his favorite band sitting there, just waiting for him to go get a picture with them!
I mean seriously, how lucky is he!?
In the light of the most recent news of Brexit, we knew we better snap these pictures fast before the wind of change...:)
But this guy stays in British history forever. In all our travels and learning about Britain we have not found one person who had negative things to say about this leader. What a great example he is to many even nowadays.
Alex knew who this was, but the rest of us didn't. We still don't know, but I'll ask Alex and hopefully will add here.
Happy to see this guy:) We like all those who want peace and love in the world.
And this is the lady who started it all. Madame Tussaud.
Included with our ticket to the regular museum exhibit was the Star Wars exhibit! The kids were uber excited!
Yeah..you know...life is good around here.
And what is this Robert? What? :)
It was awesome to see our favorite characters:))
These storm troopers were kind of annoying.
And finally! Yoda!
And Darth Vader!:)
But this R2-D2 beat them all:)
So what is our verdict? Well...it is definitely FUN. You can go as fast or as slow as you want through each room, but the first room with all the movie stars is the busiest and the loudest. The people spread out and it becomes more pleasant. We liked it, but we also didn't have to swallow the heavy price or wait in line;).
I am glad we did it though!
Lyana.
