My beautiful little girl started middle school this August!! 6th Grade is in middle school on our base. Technically, it’s called RAF Alconbury Middle High School as they are combined. Was she a bit nervous before the first day? Yes! Was she super excited? Yes!
Now she gets to have two lockers—one for every day use and one for PE (that’s a big deal for Katya-haha). She has A and B days and all sorts of new teachers. English is every day. Then every other day she has Science, Social Studies (History/Geography), Math, PE, Art and Seminar which is when she can do her homework, but might be involved in TAG (talented and gifted program).

And just five years ago—August 30th, 2009, Misawa, Japan. Beginning 1st grade at Cummings Elementary.
Katya is loving middle school so far (It’s been three weeks now). Things are new to her, but she is doing so well. I am amazed at how organized and responsible she is—I don’t ever have to remind her about what homework she needs to get done. I do need to remind her to focus and not daydream or start organizing her dresser while she is supposed to be doing homework though. She still loves to read, and that makes our lives easy!
I have a feeling you have a great year ahead of you, Katrusia! Make it brilliant!
