Yes, we've been to Toilet park before, so I won't say much about the actual idea of a park featuring a larger-than-life toilet and a pretend onsen. For details, including how to get there, follow this link:
Okay, so here it is. I didn't take a picture of the building last time. It's definitely unique in architectural design. Don't be deceived -- it's much bigger than it looks.
As usual, the pretend onsen was a big hit. While it was fun last year, I think the kids had a more fun this time because some of their friends were there with them (not to say that parents can't be fun too).
This was one of those "clothes madatory" onsens you don't hear much about. I highly recommend it (though for a true cultural experience you should try one of the other kinds too).
Mark and Becca were inseparable on the slides.
It doesn't matter what they're doing, it's just fun taking pictures of 2-year-olds. Here Mark is pulling in a rope attached to a raft carrying me and half a dozen kids.
Oldie but a goodie.
100 yen for 30 minutes -- for schoolchildren. Free for kindergarteners and preschoolers
.
30 minutes is longer than you think.
Last year, we didn't have time to make it to this fort, so it was a top priority this time around. All the kids had so much fun on this, we spent almost half our time here.
I'm not sure what the artist had in mind, but who wouldn't want a disco ball in their commode?
Finally, on the way home we made a mandatory ice cream stop. These ice cream stands are my favorite. You can choose from over 30 flavors, ranging from traditional cookes'n'cream or strawberry to more exotic (?) flavors like cherry blossom, sesame seed, sweet potato or green tea. Different? Absolutely. But oh so good (most of them).
