This amazing young man turned SEVENTEEN at the end of July. It is hard to believe sometime how quickly he is growing up, getting ready to be a real responsible adult:).
Alex is a great son and brother. He is reliable (unless he has his airpods in) and is always eager to help, not just in our family but people of this world. He knows SO MUCH! And has a lot of opinions about various social, economic and political subjects. I can tell he is still forming his ideas about some of them, which is so refreshing. I like that he seems to know himself quite well. He is also one of the few kids who make his bed every day. He is on time most of the time and takes preparation of his lunch for next day very seriously. He foregoes pizza and easy party food if he knows he has to be in top shape for rowing or knowing it messes with his overall feeling. I admire that.
For his birthday, of course, he wanted to do a BIG party, a huge party if he could. We had a lot of kids over in our basement and grateful we have the space. Alex wanted GOOD food so we ordered a bunch of stuff from Sassool, a Mediterranean place. Everyone loved that we had pita bread, amazing lentils, kebabs and salad (I mean...that in itself is a total Alex thing).
Alex loves a good party and has a mixed group of friends from church, swim and school.
