Family Pictures 2022

We usually don't take family pictures more than every other year, but this year was an exception. Katya was home for the summer but leaving on a mission at the end of August. We weren't quite sure when we would be together again for a long time, so it only made sense to get them done this summer as well.

We got together with Melissa, our photographer, on a Tuesday night at Harris Lake Park. We were trying to rush to get the last light for the pictures. Thank goodness, we are not dealing with little kids anymore! Things go a lot smoother for sure-haha.

And here is Katya.

We wanted her to be the "accent" this time so we all took turns getting pictures with her.

I was trying to bring in a little bit of a Ukrainian motif thus the embroidery on my shirt. Blue bottom and yellow top was an idea that got shut down:))

Robert's face says it all--happy but also sad we have to let her go.

We still squish her!

Gorgeous Katya, getting fantastic pictures so effortlessly.

Oh, hello Alex!

And this trio:)

Last picture where Mark is as tall as Katya (and she is wearing heels with a 3 inches platform!)

Alex and his many faces.

And Mark is still goofy, enjoying Ms. Melissa's favorite jokes.

These two don't like the same things, but they do care about what the other person likes.

And they do try to boss each other around.

And Katya is Mark's favorite sister.

The original babysitter.

And then they found a branch.

In a few minutes, Alex threw this branch into the pond nearby.

Yes, let's be all theatrical.

No comment. Just notice Katya's shoes.

Oh yeah, we did get a picture of just us married for almost 21 years.

And the whole family together. Love these people of mine!

We kind of laughed at how this one turned out, but good for a variety. Alex seems short-hahaha.

And if you didn't like the previous one, maybe this one will work.

Ultimately, this one was everyone's favorite.

It's a known fact that getting family pictures scheduled and taken is quite an ordeal. I didn't stress out too much this year about what everyone's wearing, but making all those decisions takes time. Perhaps next time we'll choose a different color scheme as we tend to do a lot of blues. Perhaps.

Lyana.
