Visiting the Webers!

I just learned from our kitchen calendar that a person has to spend at least 200 hours with someone to consider them to be a GOOD friend. Well, I can firmly say that we have spent well over 200 hours with the Webers, and definitely with my good friend Bridget. In August, as Mark had to go to Mobile for Hard Court Nationals, we decided to make it a vacation for at least some of us. So Robert, Katya and Alex drove down with me towards Pensacola where we met up with Bridget who took them to their house in Niceville, FL for a long weekend. Mark and I went to Mobile and did our thing.

First of all, it was so fantastic for the kids to see each other!! They have known each other since they were 4 and 6 years old! Lizzie is a year younger in school years than Katya, John and Alex are the same. Although I wasn't there in person, I heard so many fun stories from how they got to hang out together and spend lots of time singing and playing the piano! All of them are so talented and it just worked SO well!

Here are Katya and Lizzie.

And that's John and Alex. They used to play together ALL THE TIME when we lived in Japan.

Secondly, Tom and Robert got to see each other for the first time since we moved to England! These guys spent three years sharing an office-closet while in Misawa...and they still like each other!:))  They have a ton of things in common which makes them get along so well.

One of the things they all got to do was volunteer making meal kits for the homeless--wonderful to serve together.

Nothing new here...just your usual day at the Webers.

They were able to go to a fun park to do some tubing and floating.

This was at Turkey Creek nearby.

I just love the fact that these kids got to see each other after so many years of saying goodbye back in May of 2012!

I am always grateful to have such wonderful friends as the Webers. Years do nothing to friendships like this and we need to cherish the connection through moves and time.

Lyana.
