Family UK Trip: On the Way to Brampton Day 9

In the morning of July 1st, we left our cute Welsh cottage and headed back to England.

Quick picture of the inside of the house. It had a lot of quirks! We actually had to turn on the heat in the house although it was June...

Our destination for today was RAF Alconbury/Brampton area--the place we love. But first we wanted to pass through the Cotswolds once again.

Good bye, Wales...for now! Crossing the Prince of Wales Bridge.

We stopped at a rest stop and I saw this at the convenience shop. This is what I am talking about--so many choices! I had no idea this type of Toblerone existed!

We decided to stop in one ancient village, a village that sits at a highest point of all Costwold villages--
Stow-on-the Wold.

As you can see, Alex here is on the Fleece Alley. This town used to be a major sheep trading destination with as many as 20000 being sold at annual sheep fairs.

The narrowest street in town.

We took a walk around and saw all these Ukrainian flags and ribbons!

The Market Square was cozy!

We tried to find a restroom and ended up going into a visitor's center of a church.

Still fascinated with these amazing church buildings that are so well preserved in these towns.

No wonder so many movies are filmed in England--they hardly have to change a thing!

So after our short stop, we headed towards our most favorite pie place in the whole country of England! It used to be located in a place close to RAF Croughton and we discovered it one year when Robert was TDY for his birthday and we all drove there to have a birthday dinner together with him. It used to be called something else. Anyway, I did some digging because I realized the original placed closed. And then I discovered that it moved to Milton Village and was opened again earlier this year!

Marlstone Tavern in Milton Village.

Look at this amazing menu of savory British pies!

And now look at the size of these amazing creations!

It was worth a short detour and a rush to get here before they close between lunch and dinner!

Deliciousness!

Yep...we were very hungry!

It was time to make the final drive to the Grovers' house near RAF Alconbury!
