We managed to squeeze in another regatta in October, this time in Virginia.
Midlothian, VA, it's a beautiful place, and the regatta is held at a beautiful James River. It's very close to Charlottesville where our friends, the Grovers, live. So we stayed in Midlothian for two nights, and afterwards, on Sunday morning we went to Charlottesville for their baby blessing! It was perfect timing!
This was Alex's second regatta, so he knew more what to expect. His team was a lot nicer to their coxswain this time because it was Katya who knew exactly what she was doing. Their team did really well!
As with any regatta, there is a lot of waiting involved. We were prepared and brought our camping cot and a couple of card games and books. There is always lots and lots of yummy food that the crew brings, so the kids love just hanging out munching on food.

And good pep talk to the boys before the race.
Waiting for their turn.
This boat is huge!
Katya is ready to go!
James River was not an easy course, but they did their best.
Robert helps out during regattas with launching the boat.
I can't quite remember what the results were but Alex claims they got FIRST out of two boats:)
That evening after the race we went to this awesome place in Midlothian that serves huge subs. We shared two subs and Mark got scrambled eggs (don't ask).
Cuddling Baby E. So sweet:)
Final Thought. It's so great to see that Jordan Lake Crew is getting better and better every season as we are growing and training our kids. After a quick winter break (Dec 9th-Jan 24th), the kids will be back on the water, despite the cold weather. Spring Sprints are next!
Lyana.
