We broke our family vacation rule.
We went to a zoo with kids while being in a foreign country.
We don’t believe in taking kids to amusement parks or zoos while on vacation UNLESS the zoo is famous for something that we’d never seen before (like the one in Singapore). Well, we had a couple of hours to spare in Salzburg before our drive to Germany AND we still had a couple of hours that we could use our magic Salzburg cards that included entrance to the zoo. So Robert we decided to make a quick stop there.
I do not like zoos. The main reason is not even the fact that I feel bad for the animals. The truth is I am bored out of my mind at zoos simply because I think that all animals are pretty much the same in most zoos I’ve ever been to. Yeah…I am weird like that.
Therefore, I was Mrs. Grumpy Pants (“Grumpy Trousers” doesn’t sound as cool) for two hours.
I’ll just post the pictures and get it over with this post-haha. The kids mostly cooperated, but even the older ones were not as excited as we’d hoped they would be, as they were just anxious to get on with our drive to Garmisch. Mark and Robert were loving every minute of our zoo visit, so next time, I promise, they will just go on their own.
The zoo was a good size, but we were done in less than two hours.
I actually liked the lamas.
So many people that we couldn’t even take a picture of JUST our children.
For the last twenty minutes, Robert and Mark went to Africa and had a great time together.
This is while Alex, Katya and I sat on a shaded bench grumbling about how boring everything is. No joke.
Oooh, Mark is almost as tall as a tiger.
Posing with a measuring board.
In summary, if you ever decide to drag me to a zoo, I’ll give you this kind of look.
Maybe an aquarium would be better. Maybe.
Lyana.
