Thanksgiving-2017

Well, Happy Thanksgiving to All!

This year we had a mini England reunion at the Grovers! The Williamsons drove down from the DC area and Emma surprised Mallory by flying over from England just in time for Thanksgiving. So it was a full house, but super fun.

The kids spent a lot of time playing, running outside and goofing around. Yeah, like that.

We had arrived on Thursday, spent the night and then went hiking on Friday. We drove to Shenandoah National Park (and because the leading car got lost a little bit it took a while longer than was expected to get to the park:)).

We'd picked one of the shorter hikes up the mountain for a beautiful view. I am sure this place is just gorgeous during the leafy seasons, but even now it was beautiful in its own wild way.

Two restless hikers--Mark and Carson.

Two casual hikers.

The view from some of the open areas along the hike. Pretty brown and kind of smoky, eh?

And look! That's the view from the top:) Except you can just see us, all colorful and everything:)

Here is our expedition group. We all made it up there and back alive.

And here are two grins and one smile for ya.

I think we should already start making plans for our next year's Thanksgiving Day holiday. There is so much to explore along this side of the country, it's just overwhelmingly amazing!:) But we'll get there.

Lyana.
