*** This post goes along with Alex’s Birthday Party post. I know you feel like we are popping out blog posts like crazy. I’ll tell you our secret….Robert is on a military “business trip” in San Antonio, TX right now, so we can work double time. He is blogging from TX while I am blogging at home. What else is he supposed to do in the evenings without kids running around?
July 27th was Alex’s actual birthday. Wednesday. Right at the beginning of military exercises (didn’t Robert had an exercise during Alex’s birthday party a month before then?). Yeah, so the day turned out to be hectic! We had two birthday parties to go to (not Alex’s), swimming and Vacation Bible School. I am tired just thinking about it.
So, after swimming lessons that finished at 5:45 pm, we drove to Karinba. Alex says that’s his favorite restaurant—they serve Chinese food and melon soda:) Robert joined us there at 6 pm.
We got home around 7 pm, Robert finished his cake. What? Robert baked a birthday cake again? I promise, he did it out of his own good will, and not because his wife is not capable of baking such cakes or anything like that.
Looks pretty authentic:)
Look it’s Babushka and Lyena singing Happy Birthday to Alex via Skype:)
By the time we were able to sit down and open presents as a family, Alex had three presents left. He opened his first 2 through out the day….
This is Alex opening his gifts first thing in the morning.
I let him because I could feel his pain (and my emotional despair resulting from his begging and whining) while he was trying to wait all day for Robert to come home to see him open gifts. AND he was allowed to eat his cereal in the living room (with no milk, as always).
Games, mummies and Nerf gun this year…. Our Alex is growing up—loosing teeth, building Lego structures, reading all those Ancient World books on his own and singing Alexander Rybak’s songs:)
We love you, Alex
