Seoul Day 3-Seoul City Bus Tour

We got up to a very rainy weather that day, but that didn’t not phase us. We decided we were still going to take a City Bus Tour. The way it works is that around Seoul, you can see designated bus stops where you can hop on and off this special bus. There are three or four routes that the bus follows, so you need to pick one and stick to it for a day.  The bus arrives at each bus stop every 30 minutes, which worked out well – jump off the bus, spend half an hour sightseeing, then hop back on.  It was very convenient for us and rather cost efficient. I think we paid around $26 for all of us for that day.   A tour guide would have helped a bit, but of course who knows how much we’d be able to hear with the kids anyway.  Be careful not to get lost, though.  We couldn’t find the bus stop a couple times, and ended up waiting an extra 30 minutes (that’s when you should go get ice cream).

One of the Seoul City Bus Tour stops was near Yongsan Army base where we were staying. On the way, we walked over to the Korean War Memorial, which is actually a museum about wars Korea has  been involved in, not just the Korean war, although the majority of outdoor exhibits were related to that.  Actually, I don’t know what’s inside the museum, as we never even made it through the front plaza.
The rain that day seemed only to accentuate the somberness of the statues.

We didn’t spend much time at the war memorial because we had a lot of other sights to see.  So we hopped on the bus and it carried us to  . . .
