Dentists Do Know How to Have Fun:)

There are a lot of Holiday parties in Misawa, but there was only one party worth any beans this year:

 THE DENTAL CHRISTMAS HOE DOWN PARTY

I would have called it a “Holiday” party, what with all the political correctness nowadays, but anyone there would tell you it was definitely, without a doubt, a CHRISTMAS party.  The clues were all there:  CHRISTMAS trees, CHRISTMAS presents, CHRISTMAS sweaters, CHRISTMAS lights and even CHRISTMAS songs.

On the first day of Christmas, Santa gave to me . . . 

12 confused dentists and techs trying to sing on key.

Last year the Christmas party was at the O-club where everyone got dress up real nice with fancy dresses and suits.  We had a nice meal served at our tables.    A bit of hip-hop music to dance to.  This year, we got the ski lodge.  A buffet style, walk-through-the-line and get your own food dinner.  And don’t dress up too nice because, after all, it’s just a ski lodge.

Well, having been to both, here’s my completely unbiased opinion:  I enjoyed this year’s a lot more.  Not that last year’s was bad.  But this year’s party seemed happier; friendlier; Christmasier(not a real word – I checked).  Maybe it was because everyone was crammed in so tight they were forced into conversation. 

 

Or perhaps the informal setting allowed everyone to relax just a little bit more.  Maybe it was the terrific  CHRISTMAS music CD Dr. Watson brought for background music. Chances are it was Mrs. Staples’ homemade chocolate heaven cake with whipped cream and toffee on top, with a cup of hot, but not too hot, wassail on the side (what is wassail, really?).  Whichever the reason, there were plenty of smiles and lots of laughter to go around. 

Okay, off my toothpastebox.  Just take a look at this and remember . . .
