Christmas Holidays 2021

First time in the history of the Watson family we did NOT celebrate Ukrainian Christmas on Jan 6th.

It was a tough decision to make as we were trying to work with our new normal.... Do we go against the tradition? Do we cancel it all together? The problem was that starting this year, one of our kids won't be able to celebrate with us on Jan 6th because of college. So we made a huge adjustment and decided to have our Ukrainian dinner on Dec 24th instead. We figured it's an evolving tradition in an evolving family and if we want to have the kids participate as they are growing older, we'll have to keep up with the times.

So, twelve dishes and flashy Ukrainian outfits were back!

Katya--gorgeous as ever. Back from BYU for two weeks.

She just knows how to work the camera! Our beautiful Ukrainian:)!

It's always fun to dress up in our colorful Ukrainian shirts!

Our beautiful children! They don't even object anymore to dressing up! How amazing is that? hahahaha

Watsons on a timer picture #1.

Watsons #2, let's reshuffle.

Watsons #3, Mark has a better facial expression.

Watsons #5, this will do.

And finally, the famous dinner.

Christmas Eve pictures in our pajamas were actually fun!

Our beautiful family-Christmas 2021.

Sometimes around Christmas Day we managed to get one family picture. As you notice, Alex is still on this picture, but guess what! Moments later ON Christmas morning, Alex tested positive for Covid and thus had to isolate... It was pretty heart breaking because we had so many fun plans to do as a family with Katya being home.

And that's how we had to meet the year 2022. Alex in the back, still sick, Katya at the Wests because she went to the party there.

And so we had a very unique, relaxing and fun Christmas break with everyone home (and Alex in his room or wearing a mask).

Happy New Year!!!
