This post with start with THE END.
Yep... this is the end. The end of Katya’s high school career. In the empty auditorium, no guests besides family members and a handful of staff.
A socially distanced picture with the principal, Mr. Whight! (who, by the way, has been amazing during the whole crazy year).
And just like that--no more Apex Friendship High School for Katya!
Class of 2021--and graduating early.
And the last picture with her assigned parking spot.
Oh what a night!
The backwards post continues.... Right before the assigned five minute slot for the graduation, we went out to Katya’s choice dinner place--Five Guys (out of all places). We were all dressed up with Five Guys to go to.
And just half an hour before then we were taking a hundred pictures of our almost graduate! Seriously, how are we old enough to have a High School graduate???
Katya was beyond excited!
We all were! And we tried to make it a BIG deal.
Daddy’s girl...graduating and leaving for college in the matter of months!
This picture is to show how tall she is (well, with some platform heels on).
Tato and Katya.
Mama and Katya.
With her trusty Clifford, the red minivan. It has seen her through years and years of road trips, singing and tantrums from 5 years old till now (thankfully, not many tantrums nowadays).
And here are the brothers that will always stand by her.
They can’t quite yet imagine how their life will change without Katya in the house.
Quick throwback to August 2009 when Katya was starting 1st grade (I searched high and low and couldn’t find even one picture of Katya’s first day of school her Kindergarten year! How is that even possible???).
They have changed just a little bit.
Looking into the future beyond 2021!
Staying on course while having fun!
Oh Katya, you are so beautiful and smart and confident!
And fun and spunky and full of life!
So much to look forward to, so much to achieve and decide which is an amazing blessing and opportunity to have!
We don’t want to stop time...no... We do want her to go out into the big world feeling empowered and brave to do good. We’ll always want to squish and hug and tease our little Katya.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! YOU DID IT!!
We love you, Katya!
Mama.
