Alex’s Court of Honor

***Although I am back posting this blog entry to Feb, we are right now at the end of March, in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic...spending a lot of time inside. I wanted to mention this as I might have some extra time to catch up on blogging. Life is upside down, but we are ok for now.

Alex! You are an Eagle Scout! We are glad we managed to get a few new Eagles together and organize the last grandiose Court of Honor.

The boys had their display tables set up in the cultural hall at the church. We displayed Alex’s scouting pictures, a binder with his project, his Arrow of Light (that miraculously survived the overseas move) and Robert’s Scout quilt that his mom made for him twenty three years ago.

A LOT of people attended the event. It was wonderful!

The marine corp legion guys stopped by to congratulate the boys and present them with awards.

And then one by one, the boys pinned the pins onto the parents and their mentor (Rob Bennet).

And Robert gave Alex his pin.

One of Robert's greatest accomplishments--to help his son achieve the Eagle.

Happy parents! And Naomi to the right, our British friend who played an essential role in these boys’ progress.

Here are the boys and their church leaders--President Bodaine and Bishop Jordan Romans, Bishop Nathan Flake and one stake presidency member:)

And here are the boys with the mayor of Apex!

We had a fantastic reception for the boys afterwards! Because our wards had split, we have a lot of intertwining connections with a lot of people.

Emma, Broden, Remi, Remi’s sister, Alex and Josh Calderon.

The tall family.

And Alex, remember this great mentor--Rob Bennet!

I got a quick picture of these three!

Very proud of your accomplishment, Alex! Don’t forget what you have learned through your Scouting journey:)
