Ukrainian dinner tradition is going strong in the Watson household! This year January 6th fell on a MONDAY, which is always tough as I have to cook a lot of food on my own then:)
We tried to keep it pretty easy going as it was a weekday and we had to make sure kids got to bed on time because of school. Still dressed up though! Katya featuring her new dress from Ukraine.
This year, we had a great group of friends joining us! Nataliya and Anton (our new Ukrainian friends that moved to Apex in August) and the Woolstenhulmes (for the second time).

We always have lots of fun taking pictures. But Katya and Cameron had the most fun.

“This is where you stand for the pictures”.
Double trouble for sure (and best friends most of the time;)).

Mark is playing along too.
We had A LOT of food, as usual. The cool thing was that this time Nataliya added her personal touch to our dinner and brought her kutia, poppy seed cake and venigret. It was wonderful!

We talked and sang and made sure we found all the almonds inside the vareniki.

Always such fun times!! I absolutely love the evening of January 6th but not the 4th and the 5th of January when I have to cook a ton:))
Well, till next year!!!
З Різдвом!
Lyana.
