Since we had a pretty relaxing month of November in terms of traveling, I didn't mind all the busyness that came in December very much. Right after Thanksgiving Day we decided to decorate our Christmas tree since we knew our December weekends would be very crazy.
I usually stay out of decorating the tree thus our tree always looks like...well...like it was decorated by our children. They have so much fun and feel so independent and responsible that I just have to let them do it.
Robert had to consult with the snowman about what to do...
My favorite British Christmas ornament--the hedgehog.
Mark was in charge of our Countdown To Christmas nutcracker.
And finally--the STAR!
We need to work on that one...
Amidst all the craziness we still managed to squeeze in some quality family time. We weren't so great at reading our "countdown to Christmas" scriptures about Jesus Christ every day leading up to Christmas, but we tried.
On December 5th, we had Robert's medical squadron Christmas party. It was fun...But Robert bid $120 on two auctioned out baskets and somehow won because it was a silent auction. So we went home with one suitcase full of travel gadgets and a basket of movies and snacks.
Alex and Robert have been involved with the RAF Alconbury Cub Scouts A LOT. This year Robert is a Cub Scout Master. This is a picture of Alex from the base parade. They also have made Christmas wreaths to sell on base and collected food at the commissary as part of the food drive.
But overall...although busy...our December has been rather quiet:). This is our last Christmas in England...
Lyana.
