Charlecote Park

Welcome to Charlecote! A beautiful 16th century country house built by Sir Thomas Lucy, a famous politician in Warwickshire who, apparently, was satirized by Shakespeare in Henry IV.

We visited Charlecote Park very late in the afternoon, about an hour and a half before it closed. We didn't have an opportunity to go inside the house, unfortunately, but we spent a fantastic time outside.

We also stopped by the laundry room that was in the building outside the house, but didn't see any cool demonstration going on that late in the day.

The house was a pretty fancy one a from few centuries ago. Even Queen Elizabeth I has stayed in one of the rooms here.

The main attraction for the kids was this beautiful grassy playground along the river Avon.

Sheep grazing...deer wandering around.

And a bunch of play equipment under the tree, free for all to use.

The boys played frisbee, Katya entertained Mark with tennis.

And then! Oh, and then!!! We found a croquet game set up on the other side of the house. Robert explained the rules to the best of his knowledge and they all started to play. They LOVED it!

Katya and I were just chilling next to the beautiful gardens watching them and enjoying the afternoon sun. We stayed there till the gate clock chimed 5:30 in the evening--time when Charlecote Park was closing.

It was the end of a beautiful day out--brilliant weather, historical places and great company!

P.S. Katya doesn't own a phone so she can't really take selfies all the time but when she gets a hold of our fancy camera, she loves to take a million pictures of everyone...including pictures of herself. I needed to include just a couple of these showing her new look(s) for the day:).
