Possibly it is a surprise to some, possibly it is not, but I am not naturally a FUN mom. Goofiness and silliness are simply not part of me. In fact, I might go as far as confessing that I do have a hard time laughing out loud…but I am working on it. I am trying to be more cheerful in the way I look when I don’t feel like being cheerful, smile when I want to give someone an encouragement instead of just saying that, and play around with my kids before they get too old for that. But again, it is not my strength—I am the taking care of kids, organizing, scheduling and making sure everyone is fed kind of mom. So yeah…another work in progress in the Watson’s home.
One of the biggest reasons why I feel like I really-really need to show more smiles and cheerfulness is not only because it brightens everyone’s mood around here, but because I realize more and more how much our kids do exactly what we do. And learning to be happy out loud (if that makes sense) is a skill I want them to have for life.
Besides, LIFE IS GOOD! Learning to be thankful for my everyday life is a choice and an ability that I still need to master. Teaching our kids to be grateful for our life, family, good health and living like you appreciate what Heavenly Father has given us is one of the many things we hope our children will remember.
Yes, I am being a bit philosophical, but it’s good to reflect. This post was meant to be titled “Fun Kids!” as I am posting some pictures from our regular non-travelling days. It just turned into a “grateful post”.

How could I not laugh out loud when Mark came downstairs looking like this?
Or when Katya and Alex were actually playing together trying to film a movie about fighting (possibly “Kung Fun Panda 3”).
And how can I not be happy when we have a warm home, plenty of good food and all three kids healthy and happy at home?
Yes, feeling grateful today for all of that!
And I promise to laugh more often.
Lyana.
I liked this post Lyana:)
