While you guys, in the states are still Trick or Treating, and you guys in Europe are getting ready for work, I am already done with lunch, patiently awaiting big kids’ return from school and …panicking. It’s already November 1st and I HAVE to order Christmas cards with pictures this week if I want them to be delivered in December.
In the past ten years of married life, I think we have sent out Christmas cards with our pictures four or five times. If I remember right, we started in 2005, when Alex was born and my friend in Minnesota was generous enough to take some excellent pictures for us, poor dental students.
Every time we ordered Christmas cards, we ordered from Shutterfly.com. Two years in a row, I ordered the cards while they were having a great sale of buy 50, get 25 free! That was fantastic! The first year we were in Misawa, I ordered 75 cards, which came promptly in the mail, but damaged—something very oil spilled on my package and ruined 2/3 of the cards and envelopes. Instead of having me count all the damaged ones and the ones that were okay, Shuttefly’s customer service simply shipped me a whole new set of 75. So I had plenty of extras to send out to people even around Misawa.
This year, I have to act fast. The word is that Shutterfly ships cards via Priority mail but they are considered Priority mail only till they get to CA, and from then on they are going with all the military mail, which takes up to 6 weeks. I had several friends last year receiving their Christmas cards the day before Christmas or in January, although they ordered them before Thanksgiving.
So, that’s why the fact that it’s already November 1st is making me nervous. If I plan it right, they will come on time, hopefully. I like Shutterly’s quality and designs, so I am going with them. And right now, for you bloggers, they are having a special offer, which you can check out by going to this website.
All right, Katya and Alex just walked in the door. Gotta go.
Oh, and Robert’s Halloween still hasn’t arrived, although we ordered it four weeks ago
I’ll have to poster a picture of him in it anyway, because I think he’ll look hilarious.

Now you are stressing me out. We haven't even taken our Christmas picture yet. Last year I got my cards on time, but I didn't receive my matching envelopes and address stamps till after Christmas. So not looking for to the stress of the Christmas card, thanks for reminding me:)
