In a life of a high performance athlete, a sponsorship announcement is a pretty big deal!
In May, Mark decided to switch his allegiance from Dunlop to Babolat. It was a HUGE change as Dunlop has been so generous to him with free equipment and inviting him to the Dunlop camp last fall. But alas, his coach and Mark decided it's time to switch to the Babolat Pure Aero 98 racket. Babolat gave him only a 30% discount on rackets and 50% off on all other purchases this one time. They are a lot harder to get a full or even half sponsorship from...
He also applied and received a 50% sponsorship with Solinco, a major tennis strings/racket manufacturer. Mark decided to switch to Solinco Hyper G string and, of course, also bought some clothes to go along with his sponsorship. It was an exciting time for Mark! It's kind of fun for these athletes to make some changes to keep things fresh.
