Family UK Trip: Glencoe Valley Day 2

One thing about this trip that was a bit challenging was the fact that we had to cover a significant area of the country, therefore, needed to spend hours in the car driving. We realize that spending just a day and a half in Scotland doesn't give it justice but we just wanted to visit some of our favorite places in the most efficient way possible.

Here is the view of our driveway. Robert had to back out of it each time and the drive way is pretty long, steep and windy. Robert, thankfully, is not afraid of anything anymore:).

Kids, ready for another day of driving adventures! Mark's face is so distorted by the lense-hahaha!

Our main goal for the day was to stop by in the picturesque spot--Glencoe Valley.

Last time we were here, in 2013, we were traveling with the Alleys.

The weather that time was drizzly and gray in the middle of August, so we ended up just pulling over, parking the car and leaving the kids in the car while we went and took a few pictures.

To us, that was THE iconic look of how you to imagine Scotland.

Bringing the kids back, and with the weather cooperating was a beautiful experience...although we could never figure out the significance of Alex and the rock.

Katya was once again in her photo habitat.

Alex brought his cool rowing glasses along just so he could take some modeling pictures-haha!

Oh, the rock is back!

Let me tell you, we probably took at least thirty pictures, trying to get something good-hahaha. Robert's eyes are SO sensitive to the sun, it's always hard to keep them open for pictures!

Well, we did get two! Awesome!

Wait a second....Alex is still thinking about his rock??? Looking for a new one? Figuring out where his old one has gone?

I get it! The rock is a prop, just a goofy prop they all found hilarious, apparently. Such fun kids they are!

Oh...Scotland....we absolutely missed this view, tranquility, wide skies and foreign feel all at the same time.

So...after our stop, we had a bit of a detour to make because, unfortunately, our direct road to the Lake District was shut down! So we had to take the very looooong way south along rural roads...

I started taking pictures of people supporting Ukraine and now was seeing them everywhere! Thank you, thank you, British people!

SO many Ukrainian flags everywhere!

This was our rest stop after a long way out of Glencoe Valley--The Green Welly Stop. Instantly, we were reminded we are in the UK.

It kind of felt like we spent the whole day driving...and we kind of did, although that was unplanned. I assure you, though, the scenic drives from Scotland towards England are just gorgeous and not boring at all! We did get to our final destination that night--the Lake District.

To Be Continued....
