Is this even possible? How is Katya almost eighteen years old? How did our little girl grow up and is getting ready to go to college in a few months?
Katya is having a very odd year...most relaxed year in terms of schedules...and a year that requires the most resiliency.
She is graduating High School early as she is done with all her HS credits, taking only two High School courses--English and Chorus, and two Wake Tech College courses to fulfill some of her GE college requirements. Then two more Wake Tech classes during the second semester.
She is tutoring our neighborhood kids and gets princess gigs once in a while. But otherwise, she is home...or helping me drive the boys to their activities.
The saddest part about her Senior year is not hanging out with friends much... It’s almost surreal that this year she is pretty much on her own, except some hang outs with Sophie and FaceTiming Ben from VA.
The most important thing is that she is healthy and happy. I think she is just holding her breath till she goes away to college. But she has so many fun things planned still for the next few months! Going to Samoa with HEFY is one of them and going to visit Ukraine with me in June is another one! Really-really hoping we’ll get to travel....
It’s clear Katya takes a lot of pictures of herself which is so fantastic! Her story in pictures would be a fascinating one. Katya has a beautiful and tender soul, full of wonder and excitement for the world around her.
And we’ll find out on Feb 15th if she got into BYU.
