Snow is SOOOO rare where we live. If any amount accumulates during the winter months, it’s a reason for celebration! This year that happened ONCE! It’s still unbelievable to me since it seems to get cold enough to snow often.
But this evening the stars aligned and the snow started falling. It was 8:30 pm when I looked outside and saw that that the ground was covered with a significant amount. Guess what I did!
I ran upstairs and checked if kids were still awake. Mark and Katya were in bed but not asleep (Alex was deep asleep). I quietly asked them if they wanted to go see snow for a few minutes and quickly got the bin with snow gear out. I know! At almost 9 pm! They were sooooo excited! And they couldn’t believe that I was letting them go outside-haha.
Katya and Mark played for maybe 20 minutes and came inside.
The next morning before school, they all went out to play again since we knew there would be nothing left by 3:30 pm when they come back.
Oh how we miss snow and Misawa… The cold somehow seems more bearable when it’s snowy and beautiful outside.
This year I didn’t even bother buying winter boots for kids..for the first time since Florida. Hopefully, it will be snowier next winter (just like it was the first year we were in England).
Cheers!
Lyana.
