Ten years! Wow! Time is flying by—our Katya is Ten Years Old!!! This year Katya had the longest celebration of her birthday ever! Although her birthday was on July 6th, our celebration started back in May when I surprised her with tickets to see Wicked in London.
Oh, she was so excited! She really wanted to do it on her birthday, but she also wanted to spend that day just with Robert. On the other hand, I wanted to take her to see the play, so when I found cheap tickets for a midweek show and bought them. She loved it! She was hoping to be able to see it with her great friend from Misawa (you know who you are), but it just didn’t work out this time.
Originally, the only other special thing that Katya was going to do for her birthday was spending a whole day with Robert and Harry Potter. Okay, not Harry Potter, but going to the Making of Harry Potter Studio (I hope Robert will soon write about that).
Then, I felt kind of sad that she is not going to do anything special with her friends for her TENTH birthday. So we decided to have an impromptu girls’ night out with three of her girlfriends.
At first I took them swimming at our Ramsey Leisure Center. It’s amazing how much fun little girls can have in the water!
After swimming, I took them to the restaurant that Katya chose-Frankie & Benny’s (my least favorite place of all-haha). Four silly girls+soda and dessert=loads of fun:)
The next morning, Katya woke up to breakfast with Crepes and strawberries-her favorite.
First morning as a ten year old!
“Cannot even get a birthday picture without these pests-brothers…”
After lunch, Robert and Katya left for their fabulous adventure at the Warner Bros. Studio-The Making of Harry Potter experience. Someday I hope to add a link here for that post (Robert!!!).
We finished the day by singing Happy Birthday to Katya at home with a non-traditional ice cream cake since Katya doesn’t like regular cake.
Double digits now…double digits.
“I cannot believe my cake matches my shirt!”
or
“I have too many wishes….which one do I choose?”
or maybe
“I wish for a bigger piece of cake than Alex!”
Our beautiful Katrusia (she laughs when I call her this name), we love you very much! Thank you for being such a great daughter, wonderful sister and such a sweet little girl (most of the time
).
Z Dnem Narodzhennia!
