Four friends and I arrived in Tokyo today to get ready to climb Mt. Fuji tomorrow. To pass the time while we wait for our big adventure on the mountain, we went out into the city to see what we could find. We decided to check out the Meiji shrine.
Enter through the Torii gate. Yes, each column is from a single tree trunk.
I pretended to take a picture of the shrine behind them, but in reality I was secretly photographing these two adorable kids.
Tradition is to write your wishes and hopes on a wooden tablet, then place in on (or around) a tree.
Someone obviously has high hopes.
After Meiji, everyone was starving. We walked around a bit and eventually decided on TGI Fridays. Then we looked down another street and Doug says, "That looks like Thai." And sure enough, a little Thai place in the middle of Tokyo.
I ordered the Cashew Chicken. It looked delicious and tasted even better.
And it was spicy . . . really spicy.
Fun, fun, fun!!!! Seriously? The best Thai you've ever had? That must have been really good and....spicy. Did Doug write that message about Rich, Rich, Rich?-hahahahaha.
